The Cooper County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad on Thursday, May 13.
Members of the Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad, disposed of several dangerous devices that were located outside a residence in Cooper County. The individual located the items and contacted the Sheriff’s Office. The items consisted of older blasting caps and older training munnitions.
All items located were rendered safe by members of the Bomb Squad. All items located were turned over to the MSHP Bomb Squad, which made the items safe by destroying them in a controlled environment.

LENOX, N.Y. Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a fatal head-on collision in the town of Lenox on Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred just before 2:30 p.m., when a 2002 Ford Ranger, traveling east on Route 5, driven by 61-year-old John L. Montagne, of Canastota, entered the westbound lane and collided head-on with a dump truck operated by 68-year-old Terry Stauffer of Manlius.
Deputies find counterfeiting material a second time at Leavenworth home

Earlier this month, members of the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office uncovered counterfeit money and drug paraphernalia during the search of a Leavenworth residence.
Deputies conducted another search of the home this week and found additional material for making counterfeit money as well as drugs, according to Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley.
The most recent search of the home, which is located in the 200 block of Western Street, came after a man who was wanted for multiple felony warrants was seen leaving the residence Monday, according to Sherley.
