People to witness improvement in all sectors: PM June 29, 2021 Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the people will now witness improvement and reforms in all sectors of life as they had left behind the difficult times. Addressing a gathering of parliamentarians belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its allies in Islamabad, the prime minister said that there were always resistance and difficulties when you bring reforms. He said the people and mafias getting benefits from the corrupt system will resist and they would create hurdles to protect their privileges. Imran Khan said the government faced resistance while introducing reforms in different sectors.

Ex-PM, Opp MNAs visit NPCC, get briefing

June 28, 2021 LAHORE: The opposition members in the National Assembly visited National Power Control Centre (NPCC) on Sunday. According to a spokesman for the National Transmission and Dispatch Company, a group of Members of National Assembly comprising former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Marriyum Aurangzeb and Rana Sanaullah visited the NTDC National Power Control Centre in Islamabad. Joint Secretary Transmission, Power Division Ahmed Taimoor Nasir, Managing Director NTDC Engr Muhammad Ayub and officers from NPCC briefed the MNAs about current power situation, system operations of NPCC and responded to questions asked by the MNAs. The NTDC MD apprised the delegation that the current nameplate capacity was 37,261-MW, dependable capacity was 33,565-MW, while current available capacity was lower due to outage of about 3,000-MW from Tarbela power station as a result of lower inflows due to Skardu temperature, forced and scheduled outages and transmission constraints.

PM for just distribution of funds by Sindh government

Daily Times June 25, 2021 Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday said that as the federal government ensured timely release of funds under National Finance Commission, (NFC), it is also essential that Sindh government makes just distribution of provincial funds. The prime minister, in a meeting with the parliamentarians of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MOM), said the government is taking all-out measures to resolve the issue faced by the Karachi residents. Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar, MNA Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Senator Faisal Sabzwari attended the meeting wherein the prime minister was updated on the progress of ongoing development projects in Karachi. The prime minister said the early completion of federal government projects in Karachi and early launch of newly announced works are among government’s priorities.
