Malta suspended flights to and from the UK on Dec. 22, except for Maltese citizens and residents returning to the island from the UK.
VALLETTA, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) Malta has detected 12 new cases of the more contagious coronavirus variant that was first discovered in the United Kingdom (UK), Superintendent of Public Health Charmaine Gauci said here on Wednesday.
She said that this brought the tally of variant cases in Malta to 15. The first three cases of the highly transmissible COVID-19 variant were detected in December. These had been linked to travel from the UK.
