7 votes Women with ovarian cancer in the UK have joined forces with others in New Zealand and the United States to organise an international billboard campaign to draw attention to a disease which lacks vital research funding. The important message, An Ad You Can’t Miss, For a Cancer You Do will appear on the iconic Piccadilly Lights in central London and Times Square billboards to mark World Ovarian Cancer Day on Saturday, 8 May, together with more than 350 other UK billboard sites given by JCDecaux. The Piccadilly Lights activation features a 10 minute domination of the screen at 2pm. The space was donated by Landsec. In New York Times Square, the ad will appear on rotation for 24 hours.

Photograph by John Kelly Tulla woman’s appeal after late sister’s diagnosis delay May 7, 2021 A SURVIVOR of ovarian cancer has paid tribute to her late sister on what would have been her 50th birthday. Anne Murphy, a nurse from Tulla, is also urging other women to be aware of the symptoms, as World Ovarian Cancer Day is marked on Saturday. While Anne’s cancer was found early, her sister Gráinne was at stage four when her condition was diagnosed. “Tragically, Gráinne passed away before her 42nd birthday,” said Anne. “She had been attending various doctors for two years and when she was finally diagnosed, her cancer was terminal. Ovarian cancer presents with symptoms that are often put down to other conditions, from endometriosis to Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Gráinne had had a baby six months previously and she was told her symptoms were connected to pregnancy.”

Witchery s White Shirt has sold out By Imogen Bailey | 7 May 2021 Witchery has revealed that its 2021 White Shirt Campaign shirt has sold out.  The shirt, which was for the first time co-designed by Toni Maticevski, is now available for pre-order for delivery in June/July with 100% of all gross proceeds donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).  Meanwhile, the retailer s annual White Shirt Campaign will come to a close on World Ovarian Cancer Day and Witchery White Shirt Day, tomorrow May 08.  2021 White Shirt ambassador, comedian Celeste Barber, will share her own White Shirt Day message with her 7.9 million followers on social media tomorrow, helping to close out the campaign.
