There have been no games, practices, or training sessions involving the New Jersey Devils since the now-infamous January 31 win in Buffalo. The team’s COVID-19 Protocol List broke out to as many as 19 players as games over the past two weeks were postponed. Good news may be imminent. The team re-opened their training facility on Thursday, Sunday night’s update saw the list go down to just five players, and the Devils are expected to have practice on Monday. The Devils may actually get to play some games this week.
Of course, with no games or team activities, there is not a whole lot to discuss. Hence, I turned to you, the People Who Matter, to decide between two ideas. RRW: Triple South African Champion Marius Van Heerden Has Died From COVID-19

(29-Jan) The COVID-19 pandemic claimed one of the best middle distance runners ever produced in South Africa, Marius van Heerden, in Cape Town last Thursday (January 21). Van Heerden, a former South African senior record holder and junior champion in the 800 meters, as well as national senior champion over 1500m, was just 46 years-old.

Van Heerden represented South Africa at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the 1997 World Championships in Athens. He first received national colours for a tour to India in 1993.

After being inspired by watching the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Lillehammer 2016, Norwegian curlers Grunde Buraas and Lukas Høstmælingen vowed to compete in the next YOG in Lausanne – and ended up winning gold in the mixed team event. Here, we speak to them about their journey to the YOG and their experiences in Lausanne.
How do you reflect on your time at the YOG?
Grunde Buraas: “I would say that it was a fantastic experience and with the current situation [regarding COVID-19], I think about how lucky we were that it happened in January. It could have not happened, but we were fortunate to go away and have that experience and Olympic spirit and we played very well!”
