https://www.afinalwarning.com/493458.html (Natural News) Some of the world’s most recognizable landmarks were lit up Saturday, Jan. 31, to mark the World Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Day.
This effort was aimed at reminding the world of the “other” debilitating diseases that affect 1.7 billion of the poorest people on the planet. These include leprosy, Chagas disease, intestinal worms, dengue and chikungunya, Guinea worm disease, scabies, trachoma and schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis or elephantiasis, yaws, river blindness, sleeping sickness, etc.
Among the landmarks participating in the effort were Egypt’s Pyramid of Giza, Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa, Brazil’s Christ the Redeemer, United Arab Emirates’ Burj Al Arab and Malaysia’s KL Tower.
COVID-19: Cases of B117 variant in Nigeria increase

Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and the African Centre for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID) at Redeemers University have detected additional six COVID-19 B117 variants.
Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director General, NCDC, made the confirmation on Monday in Abuja at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing.
The variant was discovered in six samples – five from Osun and one from Kwara.
The coronavirus type first emerged in the United Kingdom.

Kano, Feb. 1, 2021 Kano State Government says it enrolled 526 leprosy patients for basic healthcare under the State Contributory Healthcare
Management Agency in 2020.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr Ibrahim Tsanyawa, made this known on Monday in Kano at a news conference to commemorate the 2021 World Leprosy
Day and World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day.
Observed on the last Sunday of January each year, World Leprosy Day is a day set aside by the UN to drum up support, raise awareness and attention
toward people living with the disease.
This year’s awareness has “End Stigma and Advocate for Mental Well Being” as its theme.
COVID-19: NCDC records 676 new infections, 21 more deaths in Nigeria

The health agency disclosed this on its official Twitter handle, Monday night.
The NCDC said that twenty-one additional people died from coronavirus-related complications in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,607.
It stated that the 676 new infections were recorded in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the last 24 hours.
