Messenger KUWAIT CITY, April 22: Kuwait climbed four notches in the 2021 World Press Freedom Index released by Reporters Without Borders recently, ranking 105th among 180 countries, reports Al- Rai daily. In the Gulf, Kuwait came first, followed by Qatar which ranked 128th in the world, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which ranked 131st, Oman which ranked 133rd, Bahrain which ranked 168th and Saudi Arabia which ranked 170th. The World Press Freedom Index is an assessment of the media situation in 180 countries. It shows that journalism faces huge obstacles in 73 countries while it is under restrictions in 59 countries out of 73 percent of the countries evaluated. In the Arab world, Tunisia ranked first and 73rd internationally, followed by Comoros which ranked 84th, Mauritania at 94th, Lebanon at 107th, Jordan at 129th, Palestine at 132nd, Morocco at 136th, South Sudan at 139th, Algeria at 146th, Sudan at 159th, Iraq at 163rd, Libya at 165th, Egypt at 166th, Yemen at 169th, Syria a
