Experts support clean, green recovery for better future

Islamabad : Participants of a special webinar on ‘World Earth Day, climate crisis and the road to Glasgow’ have asked developing countries to undertake enhanced global and regional cooperation that plays critical role in responding to growing challenges emanating from climate change.
The Webinar was organised here by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in connection with the World Earth Day.
Director Climate Programme, World Resources Institute-India, Ulka Kelkar, said that this year, the earth day was precedented by the pandemic, locust attack and a devastating super cyclone in India and Bangladesh. The challenge for South Asian countries is to develop a low-carbon infrastructure to rely on for a sustainable growth in the future and they need technologies for their climate adaptation and for taping on their renewable energy resources.

Mumbai: Universal Business School (UBS), popularly known as India’s first Green Business School, has now taken one more concrete step towards sustainable living.
The B School that is based in the outskirts of the city, surrounded by nature, recently installed 355 kWh (kilowatt-power) roof-top solar panels and carport solar panels across its large campus spread over 40 acres. The solar energy generated by the 912 solar panels is helping power the entire campus- including lighting up classrooms, auditoriums, playground, canteen and so on.

Chennai: Indian Institute of Technology Madras is going to host an ‘Industry Conclave 2021’ on 17th and 18th April 2021 to promote Industry-Academic Collaboration and develop means to generate new ideas for constructive partnerships.
This is the first edition and will become an annual event to enhance collaboration between academia and the industry. The event will feature representatives from various Government agencies, multinational corporate groups and IIT Madras.
Being organized by the Corporate Relations Cell of the International and Alumni Relations Student Council, IIT Madras, this initiative also aims to showcase the cutting-edge work research, innovation and start-up community of the Institute ecosystem.
