MADISON, Wis.—USAID and Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions released an initial disbursement from a $1 million liquidity fund to the Ukrainian United Credit Union (UUCU), the central financing facility for 54 Ukrainian credit unions, to help partner credit unions address liquidity constraints and support increased agricultural lending.

This extensive educational program includes two extended days of education featuring 27 breakout sessions and four keynote sessions, a workshop day featuring three interactive masterclasses, a Solution Center geared towards solving today’s challenges, and additional programming presented by the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, including the annual Global Women’s Leadership Network and World Council Young Credit Union Professionals (WYCUP) Forums.
World Council is committed to presenting an interactive event that encourages collaboration and active networking. Conference attendees will be able to connect with their global peers through one-on-one video chats, guided networking sessions, topical discussion forums, and artificial intelligence generated match-making.

MADISON, Wis. The nomination period for the 2021 WYCUP Scholarship program is now open and will run through May 31.
The program spotlights young professionals under the age of 40 with a desire to engage internationally and a passion for applying their talents to our shared global challenges. The program recognizes emerging leaders who have demonstrated leadership through contributions to their credit union, community or cooperative financial system. Young professionals from credit unions, financial cooperatives, CUSOs and regional or national associations are welcome to apply.
Up to five scholarship recipients will connect with a world of financial cooperatives, traveling to Glasgow, Scotland to attend the 2022 World Credit Union Conference. Three WF supporters launch website to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

MADISON, Wis. Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions applauds Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU), Civic Federal Credit Union and the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC) for launching a website to advocate for the proposed 8th Cooperative Principle that is focused on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
The site promotes DEI as an expansion of the philosophical tenets currently embraced by cooperatives globally. The values of diversity, or plurality as it is often understood outside of the U.S., equity and inclusion are ideologies already ingrained within the cooperative community. The credit union and AACUC leaders believe it is past time to declare these as guiding principles.
Initiative aims to link existing young professional networks, build new ones around the world

MADISON, Wis. More than 50 young credit union professionals from 20 countries participated in the first WYCUP Affiliates Council meeting February 16 signaling an important new chapter of cooperation among young professional (YP) networks across the globe.
“You all jumped at the chance to connect internationally,” WYCUP Director Thomas Belekevich told the attendees. “I see incredible untapped potential and opportunity in our willingness to come together and share our experience. That’s what makes us different. This pandemic hasn’t changed that if anything it’s made it more important than ever.”
