Finn Balor is back in the Universal Championship picture.
Friday night s episode of SmackDown ended with Universal Champion Roman Reigns accepting a challenge from Balor. The match wasn t officially announced and it wasn t made clear when it would be taking place.
The main event segment of Friday s show was Reigns responding to John Cena s challenge for a Universal Championship match at SummerSlam. Reigns called Cena a nostalgia act and denied his challenge. Reigns said he wouldn t be seeing Cena in the main event of SummerSlam.
Balor then made his way out to the ring and asked if Reigns was interested in a challenge from him. After the crowd chanted Roman s scared, Reigns told Balor that he accepts.

Fans in attendance understandably lost their minds at the sight of Cena s return, as did just about everyone watching.
Before we get into all that, it does help to see the actual return play out to get a feel for just how insane the energy was inside Fort Worth s Dickies Arena when John Cena arrived deep into the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. Take a listen to the crowd when Cena s music hit, and how it didn t exactly stop once the pro-wrestler-turned movie star strolled out onto the ramp.

John Cena entered to another big reaction. Cena noticed fans were still getting to their seats and encouraged everyone to get in quickly. He also shouted out a young fan who was celebrating his birthday. Cena missed the fans and missed being there.
He always said that the biggest superstar in WWE was the fans and they were proving it tonight. He joked that he might wear his Peacemaker outfit to the Suicide Squad premiere.
He came back last night, and ruined Roman Reigns’ championship celebration, because of the fans. It was because of them but it was also because of Reigns. The crowd booed Reigns. Cena wanted a Universal Champion match at SummerSlam in Las Vegas.
