Reigns defeated Bryan in the main event of this week s SmackDown to retain the Universal Championship. As a stipulation of Bryan losing the match, Bryan is now banished from SmackDown.
Reigns won the match when Bryan passed out in a guillotine. After the match, Reigns got two steel chairs and went to give Bryan a con-chair-to. Cesaro then ran down to make the save. As Cesaro was beating down Reigns, Jey Uso attacked Cesaro. Uso tied up Cesaro in the ropes and forced him to watch Reigns give Bryan a con-chair-to.
The build to WrestleMania Backlash continues on tonight s SmackDown.
Cesaro confronted Universal Champion Roman Reigns last week on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 37. Reigns bragged about beating Edge and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania. He claimed the rest of the roster was afraid to face him until Cesaro interrupted. Reigns disrespected Cesaro by leaving the ring.
Cesaro demanded a title shot against Reigns but had to face Jey Uso first. The match ended when Seth Rollins jumped Cesaro for the disqualification.
Cesaro had defeated Rollins when they faced off at WrestleMania. On SmackDown last week, WWE showed footage of Cesaro giving Rollins the giant swing and UFO several times.
Roman Reigns disrespected Cesaro
Following his victory over Edge and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania, Universal Champion Roman Reigns claimed that there was no one left that would dare face him.
