December 12, 2020 marked the fifth anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement. A Climate Ambition Summit hosted by the UK, France and the UN celebrated the event. Heads of government from around 70 countries made commitments, together with CEOs, mayors and civil society leaders.

The House leader made the call five years after the landmark deal which calls for 1.5-degree global warming threshold was adopted at the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
“The Paris Agreement establishes the obligations of all nations to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
