Iridium invests in GPS accuracy boosters DDK Positioning

Iridium Iridium announced it has made a strategic investment in DDK Positioning, a technology company which boosts the accuracy of satellite positioning systems. UK-based DDK Positioning uses Iridium’s network to boost the accuracy of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as GPS and Galileo. GNSS usually offer accuracy of around 10 metres, but DDK enhances accuracy using Iridium’s network to bring positioning accuracy of five centimetres or less. More accurate positioning systems are critical for a wide-range of technologies; within the maritime sector the technology has significance in surveying, windfarm construction, autonomous vessels, a range of maritime IoT applications.
