‘The projects using modern technologies will give new direction to housing construction’
Laying the foundation stone for six projects under the Global Housing Technology Challenge-India being taken up in six States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said these will give a “new direction to housing construction.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the Light House Projects (LHPs) being executed with modern technologies in six States will show a new direction to the housing construction sector in the country and further strengthen cooperative federalism.
Modi laid the foundation stone of six LHPs under the Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC-India) that, he said, has given a scope to innovate and incubate with new technology.
The programme seeks to build over 1,000 houses each in six cities in 12 months.
“These six projects will show a new direction to the housing construction in the country,” he said.

On Friday, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of Light House Projects (LHPs) under the Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC-India) via video conferencing.
Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tripura and Andhra Pradesh also took part in the ceremony.
LHPs will be constructed at Indore, Rajkot, Chennai, Ranchi, Agartala and Lucknow, comprising about 1,000 houses at each location along with allied infrastructure facilities. (ANI)
