Universal Studios Japan Opens Super Nintendo World on March 18

Opening was planned for February 4, but delayed due to new state of emergency
Nintendo World area will open on March 18.
The park had originally planned to open the area in late July 2020, in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but delayed the opening to prevent crowding, as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). (The Olympics event itself has been delayed until this year also.)
The park then planned to open the area on February 4, but this was again postponed in January due to the new state of emergency declaration for Osaka prefecture. The government lifted the state of emergency in six prefectures, including Osaka, on March 1.
Despite the hundreds of YouTube videos of people going to Nintendo and Universal’s Super Nintendo World in Japan that have appeared in the last few weeks, the theme park isn’t officially open yet.
Now, Universal and Nintendo have revealed that Super Nintendo World will officially open its doors to the public on March 18th. The park’s previous launch date was February 4th, but due to Osaka’s state of emergency, its opening was delayed.

Super Nintendo World Opens Officially March 18

Universal Studios Japan announced today that it will officially open its Super Nintendo World land on March 18.
The immersive video game-themed land was supposed to open earlier this year, but Universal delayed the opening due to stricter pandemic rules in Japan. The March 18 grand opening also will kick off Universal Studios Japan s 20th anniversary celebration.
Japan s Super Nintendo World is the first installation of the land which is planned for three other Universal theme parks: Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Singapore, and the just-restarted Epic Universe, now again under construction at the Universal Orlando Resort. No opening dates for those installations have been announced yet by Universal.
