If our recent wave of unseasonably warm weather has you itching to leave your house, but you re still antsy about attending activities inside, here are three seasonal events happening now at local attractions that you can enjoy in the great outdoors.
New Orleans nixed this year s Fat Tuesday celebrations, but we Floridians won t allow a little pandemic to interfere with our party plans. Universal Orlando is still letting the good times roll with their 26th annual Mardi Gras event, even if their signature parades and concerts have been canceled. In place of the usual entertainment, visitors to Universal Studios Florida will find this year s pirate-themed floats parked all around the park, accompanied by costumed performers tossing beads to passersby from a safe distance.
Satirical Semite: Midnight Plane to Miami
The word is getting out on the most up-and-coming neighborhood in Los Angeles. The place to be is warm, sunny, spacious, with very little traffic and easy access to the water. Its name is Miami.
The migration has begun. There are Republicans who are apparently flocking to red states since it can be risky to admit you are a conservative if you live in California. There is comfort in moving to Florida, within a golf ball’s reach of Mar-a-lago. In fact, one of my friends took a pilot trip to Miami to see if she could live there, and hoped for the ultimate Florida experience in the process not to slam dunk some elderly people at a shuffleboard championship in Boca Raton, but to bump into Jared and Ivanka in shul.

Alex Hayden, Turn Announcer with MRN joined the Morning Kix Start with Brandon Lewis on Tuesday to preview the Dayton 500 this weekend.
Prior to joining MRN as a turn announcer in 1997, Alex Hayden worked as an actor at Universal Studios Florida and even landed an appearance on the WB network hit show “One Tree Hill.” His path to racing started growing up not far from Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Muncie, IN. His dad was a photographer and Alex would tag along on his racing assignments. A love for racing grew in Alex to include many of its forms, from Indycar, to local dirt track racing, to traveling with his family to Michigan International Speedway for NASCAR races.
