The province will begin to lift spring weight restrictions for trucks this weekend.
Starting Sunday, May 2, weight restrictions will be lifted in southern New Brunswick. In northern parts of the province restrictions will be lifted next Sunday.
In a release, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Jill Green thanks truck drivers for following the rules this past season.
“It is important to note that some of our secondary routes will remain restricted or closed to trucks until the road conditions improve,” Green added.

Higgs government blunts opposition abortion motion, removes references to Clinic 554
The Progressive Conservative government has used its majority in the legislature to neutralize an opposition motion calling for the funding of surgical abortions at Fredericton’s Clinic 554.

New Brunswick First Nations have announced they’re pulling out of the Higgs Government’s proposed “all nations working group”.
The province had announced the working group earlier this month to address recommendations made by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
The Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Wul-ah’-stook-kway) First Nations announced they were withdrawing, calling it a political smokescreen created by the government. The withdrawl comes after the new Aboriginal Affairs Minister, Arlene Dunn, enraged first nations leaders last week when she amended an opposition liberal motion in the house removing language in the bill calling for public inquiry into systemic racism.
