Cape Town - Former President Jacob Zuma is expected back in the Pietermaritzburg High Court today, although it is unclear if the case will proceed as the former head of state parted ways with his legal team last month with his new attorneys not known yet.
As he is expected back in the dock on Monday, Zuma and his allies have remained mum on the former president’s next step despite him and his legal team of advocate Muzi Sikhakhane, Eric Mabuza SC, advocate Thabani Masuku SC, Rudolph Baloyi and advocate Mpilo Sikhakhane having parted ways.
Court proceedings at the kick-off of Jacob Zuma’s corruption trial were swift and clinical on Monday, with a postponement to May 26. Ace Magashule, Carl Niehaus, Bongani Bongo, Tony Yengeni and former North West premier Supra Mahumapelo were among his VIP supporters who crunched into the co.

JOHANNESBURG – The corruption case against former President Jacob Zuma is expected to resume in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Monday, 17 May 2021.
Zuma and French arms company Thales face corruption, racketeering, and money laundering charges linked to the Arms Deal.
It’s been reported Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Patricia de Lille, who blew the whistle on the multi-billion rand deal over two decades ago, will be the State’s first witness.

De Lille first witness in Zuma corruption trial

DURBAN - PUBLIC Works and Infrastructure Minister Patricia de Lille will be the first state witness when former president Jacob Zumaâs corruption, fraud, money laundering, racketeering and tax evasion trial resumes on Monday.
De Lille, who first blew the whistle on the multi-billion rand arms deal almost 22 years ago, told Independent Media the National Prosecuting Authority had asked to her give evidence on the document she presented in the National Assembly on September 9, 1999.
She said she would be the stateâs first witness when the trial resumes on Monday at the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg.
