Lagos, Feb. 26, 2021 The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mr Godwin Emefiele, has urged Bank CEOs and other stakeholders to work together to reset the Nigerian economy to achieve massive growth.
Emefiele gave the advice at a one-day Special Summit on the Economy, organised by the Vanguard Newspaper in collaboration with CBN and Chief Executives of Banks, on Friday in Lagos.
Naija247news reports that the summit has, “How to overcome the Pitfalls of Recession: Bankers perspective on an Enduring National Growth Path,” as its theme.
“Nigeria has grown as far as 5 per cent in the past and I think we have an opportunity now to reset our economy and begin to see massive growth.
Infra-Co: Rethinking Nigeria’s infrastructural development

On Friday, 12th February, 2021 the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande, announced that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the establishment of a public-private partnership company called Infra-Co, or Infrastructure Corporation, with an initial capital of N1 trillion.
According to the State House statement, Infra-Co “will be one of the premier infrastructure finance entities in Africa and will be wholly dedicated to Nigeria’s infrastructure development.”
Akande also added that “Infra-Co will finance public asset development, rehabilitation and reconstruction as well as invest in cutting edge infrastructure for roads, rail, power and other key sectors.”
Nigeria's central bank is seeking asset managers for a new $2.6 bln infrastructure investment company set up to develop the country's crumbling transport networks and boost economic growth.
