GM NHIDCL Ladakh calls on CEC, discusses work on Zojila Tunnel

KARGIL Jan 2: General Manager, National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) Ladakh, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India (GoI) Bipin Kumar Chand called on the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan at Council Secretariat here today.
Executive Councillor for Works, Mubarak Shah Nagvi, Executive Councilor for Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsog Tashi besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
General Manager, NHIDCL informed the CEC that blasting work is in progress at the Zojila Tunnel despite sub zero temperature at the site. He also informed that the draft DPRs regarding the Shinkula Tunnel has been submitted to the higher authorities with the aim of starting work on ground in the month of May-June 2021.

Agartala: The bridger over the River Feni, called the Maitre Setu, which connects South Tripura with Ramgarh of Bangladesh, is getting access to the Chittagong seaport, is now all ready to be open in a few months following the confirmation of the schedule from the Prime Ministers of both the countries, India and Bangladesh, respectively.
With the sanctioned cost of Rs 128.69 crores, the 1.9 KM long international standard bridge was started in the year 2017. However, the construction got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Agartala, Dec 31 (UNI) Maître Setu – the bridge over River Feni connecting South Tripura with Ramgarh of Bangladesh getting access to Chittagong seaport is all set to be opened in a couple of months after confirmation of schedule from Prime Minister of India and Bangladesh.
According to officials here, the 1.9 kilometres long international standard bridge had begun in 2017 with the sanctioned cost of Rs 128.69 Cr and was scheduled to be completed in two years but the construction got delayed in two phases including nine months due to Covid-19 this year.

KOHIMA: NSCN(IM) s demands for a separate Naga flag and Constitution amid the COVID-19 outbreak prevented conclusion of Naga peace talks in 2020.
Many Nagas had hoped for a resolution of the issue, with the conclusion of separate talks between the Centre and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) and the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) comprising seven organisations, in October last year.
