Ontario man retires from U.S. Navy [Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Calif.]

U.S. Navy Machinist’s Mate (Nuclear) 1st Class Nicholas Miller of Ontario recently retired from the Navy after 21 years of service.
At retirement, Miller was assigned to the Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723), according to a news release.
His retirement ceremony was held at Naval Base Guam.
The USS Oklahoma City is one of four forward-deployed submarines assigned to Commander, Submarine Squadron 15 out of Polaris Point, Naval Base Guam.
18-year-old killed and 3 injured in fiery Chino crash [Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Calif.]
Dec. 16 An 18-year-old Chino woman died in a fiery car crash that left three others hospitalized, the Chino Police Department said.
The crash was discovered Monday evening, Dec. 14 at about 8:26 p.m. when Chino PD responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 13400 block of Central Avenue in Chino. Officers discovered a vehicle in the southbound lanes fully engulfed in fire.
Officers rescued two of the vehicle’s occupants from the car while a third passenger was found outside of the car prior to their arrival. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, Chino PD said.
