Tonya York’s Indian Hills home is warm, welcoming, and full of mementos and artifacts from friends, family, and her travels. It’s full of cozy, carefully thought-out spaces but it wasn’t always that way. When she purchased the property, she knew she had to put some work into the place; and, she says, the home improvement process hasn’t stopped.
Made of memories
“This was a total fixer-upper,” York said. “I never could have afforded it otherwise.”
When she purchased the house about 20 years ago, it hadn’t been touched in quite some time. It sat vacant for nearly a year before the previous owner’s children finally got around to selling it.
