Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has announced that the state government has earmarked the sum of N3.7 billion for the implementation of the Costed Model Action Plan (CMAP) for full implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law in Bauchi State.
The Governor made the announcement on Friday at the launching of CMAP as well as the inauguration of VAPP Advisory Committee and Technical Committee for the implementation of the law held inside the Banquet Hall of the Government House.
He said that Bauchi State is the first state to domestic the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law in the North East of the country lamented however that, “yet, translating the VAPP Law into practical action on the ground remains challenging with a persistent gap between commitment and financial support.”

The Chairman, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, Hassan Farawa, on Wednesday, approved the appointment of 55 special Advisers and Assistants.
At the inauguration of the new Special Advisers and Assistants, Farawa commended the state governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, for his commitment in eradicating poverty in the state.
He charged the new appointees to discharge their duties diligently in order to move the local government to the next level.
He thanked the state acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas and the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Garo, for their support.

The Federal Government on Monday moved to curtail incessant herder/farmer conflicts with flag-off of National Livestock Breed Improvement Programme, NALBIP, to boost production.
The flag-off of NALBIP was done by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammed Nanono, in Dawanau, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State as contained in a statement signed by the Director, Information, Theodore Ogaziechi.
Nanono explained that NALBIP is a comprehensive and sustainable mechanism put in place by his Ministry to address the transformation of the livestock value chain, and will improve the genetic makeup of the indigenous breeds in the livestock industry with a focus on dairy cows towards achieving increased milk and meat production.
