The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has unveiled guidelines for the forthcoming local government election scheduled for July 24.
LASIEC Chairman, Retired Justice Ayotunde Philips, in the guidelines issued on Saturday, said the commission had fixed N150, 000, N100, 000 and N75, 000 as nomination forms fees for the chairmanship, vice-chairmanship and councillorship candidates, respectively.
“Political parties are required to obtain the following LASIEC Forms: LASIEC 001, LASIEC 002, and LASIEC 008 for their candidates as from May 4. This ends at 12 noon, May 5 at the commission’s headquarters, Sabo-Yaba, Lagos. x
“LASIEC form 001 must be completed and returned to the commission by the political parties not later than June 4,” Philips said.

Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, has tentatively fixed the conduct of elections in the 20 Local Governments and 35 Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, in the state for July 24, 2021, as clearly stated by the 1999 Nigerian Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Chairman of the commission, Justice Ayotunde Phillips (retd), announced this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Philips, “LASIEC, which is charged with the statutory responsibility of electoral management and administration, is committed to conducting free, fair, credible and inclusive elections into the offices of chairmen, vice-chairmen and councillors in July this year. The Statutory Notice shall be published very soon.”

The Osun State Governmeny said it has received the state’s dosage of COVID-19 vaccines from the Federal Government.
The Information Officer, Office of the Secretary to the state government, Jelili Tiamiyu, in a statement said that the vaccine meant for Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti States respectively arrived at Akure Airport on Tuesday.
The statement reads in part, “leading the state of Osun medical Team to recieve the vaccine onbehalf of the state government was the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Usamot, Special Adviser to Governor on public Health, Pharmacist Siji Olamiju and the Chairman,Osun Primary Health Care Development Board, Hon Leke Ogunsola at exactly 07:11 pm today (Tuesday).
