Cardiff charity Rumney Forum has been crowned winner of Virgin Media s Local Legends competiiton (Picture: Virgin Media) A CARDIFF charity has been crowned as the winner of Virgin Media’s ‘Local Legends’ competition for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic. Rumney Forum, which is a community-led charity and FareShare partner, was nominated for Virgin Media’s Local Legends competition which recognises those who have made a significant contribution to their community over the past year. The winners of Virgin Media’s Local Legends competition, which launched to celebrate the switch-on of gigabit broadband services in Cardiff and South Wales, are awarded a tech makeover to the tune of £10,000 as well as Gig1 broadband for two years.

Kaddy Smale is an everyday hero despite most of her work
going undercover.
The sprightly 77-year-old
grandmother is at the forefront of choosing books for the
Housebound Readers Service and her experience and instinct
has made her a favourite to many who can’t make it to one
our district libraries.
Her 45 years of service to a
range of volunteer groups, including Puke Ariki, was
recognised last year when she was named as one of NPDC’s
Local Legends and now she wants to see other people’s good
work recognised.

St. Ann s of Wadena is hosting a special showing at 3:15 pm at the Cozy of the movie: The Prince of Egypt. The movie tells the story of Moses and how God chose him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. It is rated PG. All ages invited and $1 donation per ticket.
