Muncie woman, Albany man held in child-abuse investigations © Photo provided Merideth Barker MUNCIE, Ind.  A Muncie woman was arrested Tuesday after she reportedly threw her 2-year-old son to the ground in the view of several witnesses. Later in the day, an Albany man was arrested after his girlfriend s 2-year-old child was taken to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Merideth L. Barker, 28, and Charles Harrison Stacy Jr., 33, both were being held in the Delaware County jail on Wednesday under $50,000 bonds. City police said Barker, of the 4200 block of South Pinewood Drive, was arrested about 11:20 a.m. at the McDonald s restaurant at 500 E. Charles St.

Open Door is administering Moderna vaccines inside its Madison Street location by appointment only. The clinic is currently open Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Meridian offers a drive-thru vaccine clinic at the Suzanne Gresham Center on White River Boulevard. The drive-thru clinic is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. by appointment only. Meridian is also administering the Moderna vaccine. Individuals can still get vaccinated at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, which offers both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine, or at the Delaware County Health Department, which offers the Moderna vaccine. In Indiana, vaccinations are currently only open to those who are age 70 and older, healthcare workers and first responders.

Delaware County COVID vaccination clinics begin at Meridian, Open Door

MUNCIE, Ind.  As Delaware County approaches 9,000 COVID-19 cases, two more local health care providers have been added to the state s vaccination site list. Meridian Health Services and Open Door Health Services, both categorized as Federal Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), began their vaccination clinics this week. Each location received 800 Moderna vaccines for the week; future shipments will depend on demand in the area and availability within the state.  Currently, frontline workers and those in the community who are 70 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine. As at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and the Delaware County Health Department, an appointment is required to receive a vaccine. Appointments can be made at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
