Man Arrested After Shooting And killing His Long-Time girlfriend
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 58-year-old Phillip “Butch” Deckard, of 2738 Maul Ridge Rd., on charges of murder, involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, domestic battery, and aggravated battery after he allegedly shot and killed his long-time girlfriend Charlene Silvers during a domestic dispute.

(UNDATED) – Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital, Morgan, Paoli, and Bloomington are participating in a recognition event of IU Health Heroes on New Year’s Eve with a giant spotlight mounted on top of the facility.
Officials will also be distributing flashlights to team members working on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
This celebration is being combined with a “Countdown to New Year’s” with their patients.
A single beam of light will shine from the top of the hospitals from 6 p.m, Thursday, December 31, 2020, into the new year to honor IU Health heroes

(OOLITIC) – A 10-year-old boy riding his bicycle died Wednesday night after he was struck by a vehicle on Visita Drive.
The accident was reported at approximately 5:43 p.m. on Vista Drive near Meadow Lane in Oolitic.
Indiana State Police, Lawrence County Sheriff Department, Oolitic Police Department, Oolitic Fire Department, and a Seals Ambulance responded.
Indiana State Police Investigate the crash in the 100 block of Vista Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Upon arriving, emergency personnel found 10-year-old Camden Moore, of Oolitic, unresponsive. A bystander was giving medical care to the child with the Oolitic Police Department providing assistance. Camden was transported by ambulance to IU Health Bedford Hospital where he died from his injuries. An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday, December 24.

OOLITIC, Ind. (WISH) A 10-year-old boy died after a Jeep struck him as he rode a bicycle Wednesday afternoon, Indiana State Police said.
A bystander gave medical care to Camden Moore, of Oolitic, before an ambulance took him to IU Health Bedford Hospital, where he died.
Local, Lawrence County and state authorities were called to the crash shortly before 5:45 p.m. Wednesday on Vista Drive near Meadow Lane. Oolitic is a town of 1,100 just northwest of Bedford, and about 55 southwest of Indianapolis.
Investigators determined Matthew Nikirk, 45, of Bedford, was driving north on Vista Drive when his 2016 Jeep struck the boy on the bicycle.
