Every year, March 11 is observed as World Kidney Day (WKD). The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of kidneys and to scale down the frequency and impact of kidney disease and health problems associated with it. A solitary lifestyle and long sitting hours in the office is harmful for the body and it may lead to several complications in future. A new study suggests that optimal amount of physical activity in patients with kidney disease may boost better health.
The findings indicate that compared to an inactive group, the highly active group had a 38 per cent lower risk of death, 17 per cent lower risk of end-stage renal disease, and 37 per cent lower risk of major adverse cardiovascular events.
