The White House stands behind fencing in Washington, D.C. President Joe Biden on Tuesday nominated Lisa M. Gomez as assistant secretary for the Employee Benefits Security Administration. Ms. Gomez is a partner with the law firm Cohen, Weiss and Simon and the chairwoman of its management committee. Over her career she has represented various Taft-Hartley and multiemployer pension and welfare plans, single employer plans, jointly administered training program trust funds, a federal employees health benefit plan, supplemental health plans and voluntary employees beneficiary association plans, according to a White House memo. Ali Khawar has been leading the EBSA as acting assistant secretary since the Biden administration took office in January.
