Armenia to use force if sees first pre-signs from Azeri side – military official
Political leadership does not give order not to shoot, such order is being given by military leadership, head of the chief operative department of the Armenian Armed Forces, deputy chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Mayor-General Edward Asryan told the reporters today.
He stressed that no one bans Armed Forces fulfill its duties.
Asryan said if the Armenian side feels that it cannot fight with the adversary with hands and sees pre-signs that the adversary tries to dictate its conditions in other direction, military force will be used.

Armenian President Armen Sarksyan dismissed Karen Abrahamyan from the post of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, the press service of the Armenian leader informs. Taking as a basis the proposal of the Prime Minister, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 133 of the Constitution, as well as paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Article 40 of the Law ‘On Military Service and the Status of Servicemen’, to release Karen Abrahamyan from the position of the head of the General Operative Department-Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces,” the decree of Armen Sarksyan reads, Sputnik Armenia informs.
Deputy chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, head of combat training department Andranik Makaryan has been charged under Part 3 of Article 376 of Armenia’s Criminal Code - dereliction of duty that resulted in substantial harm and occured during the martial law, war or during hostilities.
Spokesperson of Armenia’s Investigative Committee Vardan Tadevosyan told Aysor.am about it.
Restricted residence has been chosen as pre-trial measure.
According to Zhoghovurd paper, Makaryan is accused of missing of a subdivision of 60 servicemen during war in Nagorno Karabakh.
Arshak Karapetyan appointed Armenia s First Deputy Chief of General Staff with the force of law
On April 7 Armenia’s Prime Minister submitted to the president of the republic Armen Sarkissian a motion to appoint Arshak Karapetyan as first deputy chief of General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces.
The president did not sign the motion in the set period of time neither did he return it with objections.
“Based on Part 3 of Article 139 of the Constitution with the force of law Arshak Karapetyan is considered appointed in the post of the first deputy chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces from April 13, 2021,” government’s administration said in a statement.

YEREVAN, APRIL 10, ARMENPRESS. Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Artak Davtyan met on April 9 with the families of servicemen who have been declared missing or have been captured by Azerbaijan during the recent war, the defense ministry of Armenia told Armenpress.
During the meeting Lieutenant-General Artak Davtyan presented details from the ongoing search operations, answered to their questions. He assured that all issues voiced are under the spotlight of the country’s military-political leadership and also within the jurisdiction of the defense ministry, adding that the maximum is being done to ensure the return of captured servicemen, reveal the fates of missing soldiers, find and identify the bodies.
