LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Wisconsin is approaching 4,000 deaths from COVID-19. Staff in Mayo Clinic Health System’s COVID units say demand for their help is only growing.
It’s hard to put things into perspective when all people see are numbers. Allow Mayo Clinic Health System nurse Katie Hansen to explain.
“You’re spread really thin,” Hansen said.
She works long hours on a floor where she volunteered to spend her workdays.
“It’s stressful here,” Hansen said. “It’s hard.”
Cases are rising and a surgical floor in Mayo Clinic Health System’s hospital is now a COVID-19 wing.
