Joe Biden appointed former National Security Advisor Susan Rice to be director of the Domestic Policy Council.
WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) U.S. President-elect Joe Biden on Thursday announced more members he has picked for his administration.
In a release, Biden said Tom Vilsack, former governor of Iowa who served as secretary of agriculture all eight years of the Obama administration, is nominated to take the job again.

The pilot of an F-16 Fighting Falcon that crashed earlier this week in Michigan s Upper Peninsula has been found dead, the Air National Guard announced Thursday.
The aircraft, assigned to the Wisconsin Air National Guard s 115th Fighter Wing, out of Truax Field Air National Guard Base in Madison, crashed around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Hiawatha National Forest, roughly 300 miles northeast of the base, officials said in a Facebook post.

President-elect Joe Biden named Denis McDonough, who served as White House chief of staff under the Obama administration, to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs.
If confirmed, McDonough will be just the second non-veteran to head the agency, which has more than 300,000 employees and a budget closing in on $250 billion annually. VA delivers health care and benefits to more than 9 million veterans.
McDonough has a reputation as a workhorse and a problem-solver. Among other accomplishments, he is credited with assembling the team that responded to the initial failure of the HealthCare.gov website, the portal constructed to allow consumers to purchase health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. He also helped shepherd the Veterans Choice Act to passage. The bill passed in Obama s second term expands options for those in VA care to receive compensation for private sector treatment.
