NEW DELHI/DAVOS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese premier Xi Jinping will be among the top world leaders who will participate in the six-day online Davos Agenda Summit of the World Economic Forum (WEF), beginning on Sunday.
In what could be the first major global summit of the year, the event will see more than 1,000 global leaders, including heads of state and government, CEOs and chairmen of big companies, heads of multilateral organisations as also members of academia and civil society, discuss economic, environmental, social and technological challenges following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that the government is working towards achieving increased income for farmers by lowering costs, and creating job opportunities in rural India. Launching Indiaâs first-ever diesel tractor converted to CNG, here on Saturday in the presence of Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Parshottam Rupala and Gen (Retd) Dr V K Singh, Shri Gadkari said, the most important benefit for the farmer will be to save more than one lakh rupees annually on fuel costs, which will help them to improve their livelihood.Â

The Minister said, CNG is a Clean Fuel, as it has the lowest content of carbon and other pollutants. It is economical as it has zero lead and is non-corrosive, non-dilutive and non-contaminating which helps in increasing the life of the engine and it requires less regular maintenance. It is cheaper as CNG prices are far more consistent than fluctuating Petrol price
Increased capex to push steel demand in India: ISA
The increased capital expenditure for infrastructure projects in Union Budget 2021-22 will push demand for steel in the country, industry body ISA said on Wednesday.
To augment the country”s infrastructure, the Budget proposed significant enhancement in capital expenditure to Rs 5.54 lakh crore for the next fiscal, besides creating institutional structures and giving a big thrust to monetising assets to achieve the goals of the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP).
In her Budget speech for the financial year 2021-22, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had also announced to set up a Development Financial Institution (DFI).
