Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan’s visit Kuwait to meet the new Amir of Kuwait laid a foundation for boosting ties and this later turned out to be a fortuitous opportunity which would assist secure much needed Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to meet demands here following second wave of Covid.
(Big News Network/ANI) Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday remotely flagged off the first supply of Used Cooking Oil (UCO) based biodiesel blended diesel under the Expressions of Interest (EoIs) Scheme from Indian Oil’s Tikrikalan Terminal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dharmendra Pradhan complimented the Oil industry on the stellar role they have played to keep the fuel lines running despite the stiff challenges of the pandemic. He also lauded the OMCs for going beyond the usual business imperatives by extending support for medical oxygen supply to the nation in this crisis. Pradhan also appreciated IndianOil’s leadership role in smoothening the Liquid oxygen logistics in the country through various initiatives.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 6 (ANI): To redevelop Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand as a Spiritual Smart Hill Town , a Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) was signed on Thursday by the Oil and Gas PSUs and Shri Badrinath Utthan Charitable Trust.
The Oil and Gas PSUs include Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), and GAIL.
According to the MOU, the Oil and Gas PSUs will be contributing Rs 99.60 crore in the first phase of the developmental activities, including river embankment work, building all-terrain vehicular path, building bridges, beautifying existing bridges, establishing gurukul facilities with accommodation, creating toilet and drinking water facilities, installing streetlights and mural paintings.

REFINERY NEWS ROUNDUP: Mixed run rates in Asia-Pacific
The BPCL Mumbai refinery on the west coast of India is currently running at full capacity even as partial lockdown has been introduced in many parts of the western region. It recorded a 118% run rate in March compared with 116% a year ago, while the run rate for 2019-20 (April-March) was 95%, compared with 115% in 2019-20, reflecting the impact of lockdown in 2020.
However, India’s Reliance Industries Ltd. in March ran at 84% at its two refineries at the Jamnagar integrated refinery complex, down from 96% a year earlier, with overall runs still to attain pre-pandemic levels. In March, the domestic refinery ran at 101%, compared with 108% a year earlier, while the export-focused refinery ran at 69%, from 84% in the year-ago month.
