On Tuesday morning at approximately 10:58 the Effingham County Sheriff s Office was contacted regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in a rural driveway a mile east of Effingham, with a driver honking the horn. The vehicle was reported to be occupied by a single black male who appeared to be intoxicated. He was asking for gas from the homeowner who told him they had none. The vehicle left the residence and patrol deputies began to search for the reported intoxicated driver.
At 12:09 in the afternoon the Sheriff s Office received a call from a women who arrived home at a residence not far from the initial call and met a black male leaving her residence driving her maroon Chevy Silverado pickup. EFFINGHAM CO., Ga. (WTOC) - The eastbound lanes of I-16 are back open near Old River Road after a crash between a vehicle and a tractor-trailer Thursday morning.
The crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. and caused the truck to overturn. No serious injuries were reported.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office reopened the lanes around 8:40 a.m.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A man from Port Wentworth has been sentenced to nearly 30 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.
The Southern District of Georgia says 34-year-old David Tang plead guilty to production of child pornography. Tang was sentenced to 350 months in federal prison.
Tang also was ordered to pay $2 million in restitution to the victims in the case, and after completion of his prison term must serve 20 years on supervised release and register as a sex offender.
According to the Southern District of Georgia, Tang and a co-defendant, Melanie Smith, a/k/a “Melanie Small,” 31, of Rincon, Ga., produced sexually explicit videos of minor children that were later shared with others by Holly Clayton, 34, of Port Wentworth, Ga.
