Bristol City are the first side into the FA Women’s Continental League Cup semi-finals following a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, in which Ebony Salmon scored twice.
Benedicte Haaland replaced Sophie Baggaley in goal for the Robins following a positive Covid test for the first choice keeper, the Norwegian denying Silva with an outstretched leg from point blank range.
Mana Iwabuchi also went very close for Villa but her shot on goal was cleared off the line by Yana Daniels, another last-ditch stop saw Faye Bryson block Shania Hayles’ goal-bound effort.
She may have recently made her
Women’s Super League (WSL) debut and be one of Tottenham Hotspur’s brightest young prospects, but it’s her abilities as a coach that are what drives Elisha Sulola to be an inspiration in her local community. THFC/Getty Images
