Chinese abroad express confidence as government rolls out ambitious vaccination plan By Shan Jie, Li Qiao, Hu Yuwei, Lin Xiaoyi, Cui Fandi, Lu Yameng Published: Mar 17, 2021 09:28 PM China has announced plans to further protect its citizens abroad in the COVID-19 pandemic by launching a program to have them inoculated with Chinese or foreign vaccines as much and as soon as possible, but it also faces practical challenges, such as local vaccination regulations, vaccine entry approval or even political concerns.
Shortly after Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced the plan, dubbed the spring sprout vaccine program, on March 7, Chinese embassies around the world have since responded and swung into action.

DUBAI: Iran will begin enriching uranium to 60 percent purity, higher than the program ever has before though still short of weapons grade, after an attack on its Natanz nuclear facility, an Iranian negotiator said Tuesday.
The announcement marks a significant escalation after the sabotage, suspected to have been carried out by Israel. It could result in further action by Israel, whose Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed never to allow Tehran to obtain a nuclear weapon, and further raise tensions across the Mideast.
Nuclear negotiator Abbas Araghchi’s comment, quoted by the state-run IRNA news agency, came after Iran’s foreign minister warned that the weekend assault could hurt ongoing negotiations over its tattered atomic deal with world powers. Those talks are aimed at finding a way for the United States to re-enter the agreement, the goal of which is to limit Iran’s enrichment of uranium in exchange relief on sanction
Israel will provide the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) based in Egypt s Sinai peninsula with coronavirus vaccines. A request from the US to provide the MFO with some 2,400 vaccines was r.

At least four African countries have given its citizens Chinese vaccines or secured vaccines from Chinese developers as of Tuesday, with talks on cooperation underway in more countries. Despite the challenges involved, observers noted that China is striving to help the continent fill the immunity gap rather than hoard doses.
