Egypt’s president extends state of emergency by another three months By ANA Reporter Share Johannesburg – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has announced another three-month extension of a nationwide state of emergency, which has been effective since 2017, according to Al Jazeera. The TV channel reported on Sunday that the state of emergency published in the Official Gazette stated that it was required because of the serious security and health conditions the country is going through. Al Jazeera also reported that the North African country s health ministry said on Friday it had sent reinforcements and equipment to the region of Sohag after medical staff complained of a shortage of resources to cope with a surge in coronavirus cases.
