MFA Mr Nasser Bourita Holds Talks with Egyptian Counterpart

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, on Thursday, April 15, 2021, held talks through videoconference with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Chokri. The two ministers discussed, on this occasion, the means to strengthen relations between the two countries given the strong ties of brotherhood and fruitful cooperation that unite them. They also insisted on the importance of raising bilateral relations to the level of the aspirations of the two heads of state, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and his brother President Abdelfattah Sissi, who co-chair the High Bilateral Joint Commission. The two parties underlined, in this regard, that the economic and investment dimensions constitute an important lever for the promotion of bilateral relations.

April 6, 2021 by archyde The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the negotiations that were held in Kinshasa over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam did not achieve any progress nor did they conclude an agreement on re-launching the negotiations. “Ethiopia rejected the proposal submitted by Sudan and Egypt supported it by forming an international quartet led by the Democratic Republic of Congo, which heads the African Union to mediate between the three countries,” said ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez. He pointed out that “Ethiopia also rejected during the meeting all the proposals and other alternatives put forward by Egypt and supported by Sudan, in order to develop the negotiation process to enable the countries and parties participating in the negotiations as observers to actively engage in the discussions, participate in the conduct of negotiations, and put forward solutions to the controversial technical and legal issues.”
