Greece closely monitoring Turkish invitation to Egypt for EEZ delimitation March 7, 2021 808 Views Greece is following statements by the Turkish foreign affairs minister concerning a supposed invitation by Turkey to Egypt for the delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone between these two countries, Greek diplomatic sources observed on Saturday. On Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that “Turkey may negotiate a maritime demarcation agreement with Egypt in the Eastern Mediterranean, depending on the condition of bilateral ties.” He claimed further “we see Egypt respecting Turkey’s continental shelf in the Eastern Mediterranean in its exclusive economic zone (EEZ) deal with Greece as a positive step.”
