A statement from Egypt s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said experts found remnants of gilded cartonnage in addition to amulets of gold foil in the form of a tongue that were placed in the mouth of the mummy in a special ritual to ensure their ability to speak in the after life before the Osirian court.

Ramses and the Pharaoh s Gold is a new traveling exhibition of Egyptian treasures set to land in the United States in November 2021 and run through January 2025, according to a recent announcement by Egypt s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
A similar show had previously taken up residence at the Völklinger Ironworks cultural centre in Völklingen, Germany but this iteration of the happening promises to be larger in scope and scale.
