Experts install Tutankhamun s 3rd shrine in the Grand Egyptian Museum
Cairo, May 12 (Prensa Latina) The third shrine of King Tutankhamun was completely installed in the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), informed on Wednesday Egypt s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Major General Atif Key, general supervisor of the GEM indicated it took 14 hours to assemble the piece, which was transferred from the Cairo Museum.
The operation was accompanied by scientific documentation consisting of photographs, videos and X-rays that facilitated the installation.
According to the official press release, the artifact has a double door closed with a royal seal, the ceiling is decorated with a winged sun disk and eight birds under the titles of Tutankhamun, while, there is inside the piece engravings and texts from the Book of the Dead.

Egyptian archeologists digging in the Nile Delta north of Cairo have unearthed 110 ancient tombs from several different historical periods, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced on Wednesday.
The rare discoveries include 73 oval-shaped tombs from approximately 3,300 BC – pre-dynastic times of before the pharaonic period, and 37 tombs from around 1600 BC, when Hyksos kings, who initially arrived via the eastern Sinai desert, ruled Egypt. The mission also found ovens, stoves, pottery vessels and amulets, some made of semi-precious stones and jewelry such as earrings, the government’s statement said.
