A 33-year-old Hempfield woman is accused of being drunk when she crashed into a motorcycle last year, killing the driver.
Tuesdae M. Checque was arraigned this week on multiple criminal charges, including homicide by vehicle while DUI, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, driving on the wrong side of the highway, driving under the influence and reckless driving in connection with the death of Charles L. Burkholder Jr., 67, of Acme.
Burkholder died of multiple injuries at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville two days after the July 4, 2020, crash, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

A Hempfield man is accused by state police of driving drunk during a March crash that left another motorist with an ankle injury requiring three surgeries, according to court papers.
Nicholas John Decaro, 26, was arrested Monday. He is free on $20,000 unsecured bond.
Troopers responded to Edna Road in Hempfield just after 2 a.m. March 27 for a report of a two-vehicle crash with entrapment. Decaro told police he was driving home from a club where he had been drinking, according to court papers.

Police charged a Greensburg woman with assault and endangering the welfare of a child after her son was injured at her home.
Kristen M. Sinclair, 38, was released on $5,000 unsecured bond pending a preliminary hearing Feb. 18.
Patrolman Regina McAtee reported that the boy’s injury was discovered after police were twice dispatched to Sinclair’s apartment on Lane Way for separate domestic disturbances involving Sinclair and her boyfriend on Feb. 4.
While police officers were speaking to Sinclair’s three children, who were waiting outside the apartment, the boy told officers that Sinclair injured him after police departed a previous domestic disturbance call involving the couple at the apartment Jan. 29, McAtee said in court documents.
