Some Lancers resumed flight operations Monday, about two weeks after Air Force Global Strike Command ordered the fleet of 57 aircraft to stand down for safety inspections. The service declined to say how many were cleared for flight, citing operational sensitivities.

DVIDS - News - C-130s arrive in Lithuania for Swift Response 21

23 U.S. Airmen and C-130J Super Hercules aircraft assigned to the 86th Airlift Wing, Ramstein Air Base, Germany, and the 143rd AW, Rhode Island Air National Guard, arrived at Siauliai AB, Lithuania, on May 5, 2021, to provide airlift and airdrop during Swift Response 21. The U.S. Air Force Reserve’s 94th AW, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia, and 133rd AW, Minnesota Air National Guard, will fly C-130H Hercules aircraft along with the 934th AW, Minneapolis-St. Paul Joint Air Reserve Station, Minnesota, who will fly C-130HJ Hercules aircraft, also arrived at Siauliai AB to provide airlift and airdrop during Swift Response 21.

Largest Since the Cold War: Massive US-Led War Games Move to the Balkans The DEFENDER-Europe 2021 military exercises led by U.S. Army Europe and Africa which began a month and a half ago and are scheduled to run through June, are now concentrating on the Balkans. In all the Pentagon has reported that the drills were to occur at thirty locations in twelve nations, and involve anywhere from 28,000 to 31,000 to 37,000 troops from as many as 27 nations. By the very nature of such exercises we only learn what military press releases and their news agencies rewrites choose to disclose, but it’s evident that the DEFENDER-Europe exercises underway may well be the largest U.S. and allied war games in Europe since the Cold War.
