New York Farmworkers, Food Processing Plant Employees Await Vaccine | News, Sports, Jobs

Robert Harding New York dairy processors and farms hope their workers will soon have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. The New York Farm Bureau and Northeast Dairy Foods Association are among the groups advocating for farmworkers and employees at dairy processing plants to be included in the priority 1B group for the vaccine. When the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended certain classes of workers for each phase, agricultural and food workers were part of 1B. But when New York rolled out its own list of eligible employees, farm and food workers weren’t included. Last month, 17 organizations sent a letter to Gov. Andrew Cuomo asking him to add agricultural and food workers to the 1B group. So far, there hasn’t been any action on that request. But the state has opened eligibility for the vaccine to others, including people with chronic health conditions.

Grace-Med Given Federal Authorization To Give COVID-19 Vaccinations

Posted By: chrismaslen February 24, 2021 @ 7:45 am Coronavirus (Covid-19), Local News, News GraceMed Health Clinic has been selected by the CDC and the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to receive direct supplies of COVID-19 vaccine. GraceMed was selected because its non-profit, clinical network already serves a patient base which includes public housing residents, the homeless, seasonal and migratory agriculture workers, seniors aged 65 and older, and people with limited English capability. Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas was the only other health center in the state that was selected to receive vaccine supplies. One million doses of the Moderna vaccine will be allocated to the 250 health centers that were selected in total. GraceMed will follow state priorities and guidelines as far as as who is eligible for vaccination. Vaccine recipients will not be restricted by the
