Leadership Memphis has appointed a new chief executive who came out of West Point, went to war and returned home to become an engineering expert for the old ServiceMaster Global Holdings.
Reggie Crenshaw, 51, is the first Black chief executive at Leadership Memphis, a nonprofit formed in 1979 to help stabilize a city then still roiled by the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination a decade earlier. The agency grooms up-and-coming Memphians for civic duties.
Crenshaw is an engineer and corporate executive recruited to the city in 2008 as an efficiency expert by ServiceMaster. He’s a member of Leadership Memphis’ 2011 class. He stepped in as interim CEO in August after David Williams stepped down from the position he had held 16 years.
