A criminal complaint obtained Monday charged each defendant with transferring a firearm to an out-of-state resident, making false statements during the purchase of a firearm, engaging in the business without a firearms license, wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to commit Title 18 offenses.
According to the criminal complaint, the investigation began on March 26 when Chicago police responded to a mass shooting incident. During the incident, multiple people were shot and one person died. During the investigation, multiple firearms were recovered from the shooting scene and five of the firearms were found to have been recently purchased from Federal Firearms Licensed dealers in Clarksville. Adams, Brunson and Miller were identified as the majority purchases of these firearms.

NASHVILLE – Federal agents arrested three Fort Campbell soldiers Tuesday in connection to an illegal gun pipeline to Chicago after guns found at a mass shooting scene
in Illinois were traced to Tennessee purchases, the Nashville U.S. Attorney s office announced.
Demarcus Adams, 21; Jarius Brunson, 22; and Brandon Miller, 22, all enlisted members of the U.S. Army stationed in Clarksville, Tenn., face multiple federal charges in the case.
Guns traced to the trio have been connected to multiple shootings including a late March attack that left one person dead and seven other people wounded on Chicago’s Far Southwest Side.

FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Three Fort Campbell soldiers were charged Tuesday with conspiracy and offenses relating to the illegal purchase and transfer of dozens of firearms to the streets of Chicago.
Demarcus Adams, 21; Jarius Brunson, 22; and Brandon Miller, 22, all enlisted and stationed at Fort Campbell, were arrested Tuesday morning by ATF agents and agents of the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division, according to a news release from Acting U.S. Attorney Mary Jane Stewart for the Middle District of Tennessee.
The investigation began on March 26, when Chicago police responded to a mass shooting incident. Multiple people were shot and one person was pronounced dead at the scene. During the resulting investigation, multiple firearms were recovered and five of them had been purchased from Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealers in the Clarksville area. Further investigation identified Adams, Brunson and Miller as the purchasers, the release said.

The U.S. Army on Friday confirmed for the first time that slain Spc. Vanessa Guillen was sexually harassed and further retaliated against at Fort Hood, which her family in Houston has consistently alleged in their fight for criminal justice reform in the military.
In late summer of 2019, Guillen, who was then a private first class, was the victim of sexual harassment after her superior in a troop orderly room in Spanish tried to solicit her to participate in a threesome, according to a report released Friday from an investigation led by Gen. John Murray, the commander of Army Futures Command based in Austin.
