Army soldier, 20, found shot to death in NJ, prosecutor says
A 20-year-old Army soldier reported missing from upstate New York has been found dead in Sussex County, and a fellow soldier has been accused of involvement in the death, according to authorities.
Cpl. Hayden Harris, who had been based at Fort Drum in NY, was last heard from alive between Thursday night around 8 p.m. and Friday morning around 6:30 a.m., according to U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
Sussex County First Assistant Prosecutor Gregory Mueller confirmed to New Jersey 101.5 his earlier statement to the New Jersey Herald,that another soldier, 23-year-old Jamaal Mellish, was being accused of abducting Harris and eventually driving him into North Jersey.

Dec. 20 (UPI) Officials said Sunday that a U.S. soldier missing from New York s Fort Drum has been found dead.
The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command said an investigation into the death of Cpl. Hayden Allen Harris, 20, was ongoing and that local law enforcement suspects foul play.

FORT DRUM, N.Y. (AP) The U.S Army was seeking the public s help on Saturday in locating a soldier from the Fort Drum military base in upstate New York who has been missing since Friday.
Specialist Hayden Allen Harris, 20, was supposed to meet someone in Watertown, N.Y. for “some type of vehicle transaction but has not been seen since, according to a news release from the U.S. Army s Criminal Investigation Command. He was driving a red 2016 Ford Mustang coup with the Tennessee license plate BZA 826.
The Army command has asked anyone who believes they may have spotted Harris or his car on Friday, or anyone who may have information about his current whereabouts, to contact investigators.

UPDATED: Hayden Allen Harris, a soldier from Fort Drum who was missing since Thursday, has been found dead, according to Army officials.
Harris, 20, was reported missing on Thursday and was confirmed dead on Sunday. Fort Drum issued a press release on Sunday confirming his body was found.
Army officials say the investigation into Harris s death is ongoing and foul play is suspected.
“We are devastated,” said Brigadier General Brett Funck, Acting Senior Commander, Fort Drum & the 10th Mountain Division.
“It was well known here that Corporal Harris was a great Soldier, and as we share our grief with his friends and Family, I hear again and again how he was also - and most importantly - a really wonderful, caring person. His death is a tremendous loss for his loved ones, this Division and our nation,” he said.
