Half of U.S. states have fully vaccinated at least 50% of adults, CDC says Nelson Oliveira May 24, 2021, 8:07 AM Five months after a New York City nurse became the first person in America to get a coronavirus shot, at least 25 states are now reporting that more than half of their adult population has been fully vaccinated a major milestone in the fight against COVID-19. Data published Sunday by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that Washington, D.C. has also fully vaccinated at least 50% of people 18 or older and that Maine’s 62.9% rate of fully vaccinated adults is the highest in the country. Connecticut and Vermont are right behind Maine in the vaccination race, with 62.8% and 62.7%, respectively.

2021-05-13 07:36:30 GMT2021-05-13 15:36:30(Beijing Time) Xinhua English SEOUL, May 13 (Xinhua) Ten more U.S. soldiers in South Korea tested positive for COVID-19, the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) said Thursday. The USFK said in a statement that 10 service members were confirmed with the COVID-19 after arriving in South Korea between April 26 and May 12. Five service members arrived at Osan Air Base on U.S. government-chartered flights from the United States on April 26, May 5, 10 and 12. The Osan Air Base is located in Pyeongtaek, 70 km south of Seoul. Five service members arrived at Incheon International Airport, west of Seoul, on international commercial flights on May 5, 7 and 8.

FORT BRAGG Kevin Griess spent more than 20 years in the Air Force but was never assigned to an installation in North Carolina during those two decades.  Now, he’s spending his first time in North Carolina helping oversee the nation’s most populated Army post as Fort Bragg’s newest deputy garrison commander.   He replaced Justin Mitchell, who retired in December after serving in the position since 2014.   The deputy garrison commander is similar to a city manager.   He or she is a civilian who works with the garrison commander and command sergeant major to develop policies and procedures for the day-to-day operations of the installation.
