In a recent Rachel Maddow monologue on MSNBC, Maddow specifically questioned and criticized allegations that top Pentagon officers recommended reconsidering the use of National Guard troops due to the “optics”. When asked about those involved with that phone call at the Pentagon, the Washington DC Adjutant General mentioned the name of the Army’s Chief of Operations, Lt. General Charlie Flynn. Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.: The House Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations will hold a hearing on disinformation in the gray zone. The subcommittee will hear testimony from David Taylor, the senior official performing the duties of the undersecretary of defense for intelligence and security, and Christopher Maier, acting assistant defense secretary for special operations and low-intensity conflict.

Scotlandâs foreign affairs, defence and security agenda needs to be more readily available to the public before any referendum AS a journalist who writes primarily about international affairs, I spend a lot of time perusing stories on global issues. Hence, on Tuesday, I came across an article in the online US-based Foreign Policy (FP) magazine. I wasn’t the only Scot who discovered it, and neither was I the only one who was taken aback by the arguments put forward by the author of the piece.
